Google stopped updating the displayed Google PageRank in the Toolbar, so it is no longer as valuable as before since it is becomes more and more outdated.

What is SB Rank and why is it better?

SB Rank was named by backlink checker tool 'ScanBacklinks' (SB - ScanBacklinks).

SB Rank was developed when Google PR existed, so that we were able to compare these two evaluating systems. We found that in 95% of cases SB Rank matches with Google PageRank, so it can be considered as a full replacement for Google PR.

The crucial difference between them is that SB Rank updates each week and cannot be falsified, while PageRank stopped receiving updates and may be cheated.

How is SB Rank calculated?

SB Rank is calculated on the basis of two indexes – Page Authority and Domain Authority. In 90% scenario, the new price for backlinks won`t change. Here’s the formula:

SB Rank=PA+(DA/5) – for domains that are not included in Alexa Top 100.
However, SB Rank equals PA of the page if it is in Alexa Top 100.

Why do we divide DA by 5?

There are sites that have an enormously high DA index, that often distorts the real page value. Fr example, BlogSpot domain has DA100. On the other hand, the page may be almost empty and has no real value. So in order to calculate the appropriate SB Rank of the page, we take only 20% of the site DA index, which is why we divide it by 5.

What changes are there in SEO Expert Tool?

If you use it, you probably already have a link building campaign with purchased backlinks, which were selected by PR indicator. In that case, the links remain the same, but the PR index will be changed to SB Rank index.

In 95% of cases, SB Rank index is the same as old actual Google PR. Sometimes pages with PR0 may become SB Rank 1 and vice versa. Then price changes accordingly. Nevertheless, selected backlinks will be purchased according to the price range that you have set.
